

Professional Experience
Cliff is an attorney with Walter & Haverfield, and his practice includes counseling physicians and health care, life sciences, pharmaceutical and device businesses on regulatory, business, and intellectual property issues. Cliff received his B.A from DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2005 where he completed the Health Law Concentration with honors and was a notes editor of the Law Review. Cliff was also elected to Order of the Coif and awarded the Richard A. and Brandon S. Collier Award for outstanding achievement in the law-medicine curriculum. Cliff was awarded, by the School of Graduate Studies, a Master’s Degree in Bioethics from the Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Bioethics in the School of Medicine.

Representative Client Projects
As a member of the firm’s Health Care & Bioscience Industry Services Group, Cliff has:
- Reviewed, drafted, and advised clients regarding physician employment agreements on behalf of both the employer and employee;
- Assisted both group practices and physicians in terminating a physician’s relationship with a group practice;
- Structured business arrangements to comply with fraud & abuse and self-referral laws;
- Counseled clients regarding compliance with HIPAA privacy and security;
- Assisted physician practices negotiate the sale of the practice to a health care system; and
- Negotiated a participating provider agreement between an exclusive provider organization and a regional health system.
