Waldeck, Jr. and Nathan A. Felker participated in panel discussions at the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association's "33rd Annual Real Estate Law Institute 2011" in Cleveland, Ohio. Jack Waldeck appeared as a panelist in a session titled, "Your Annual Malpractice Prevention Pill - Current Developments," while Nate Felker served as both moderator and panelist for a presentation dealing with the legal and practical aspects of the latest oil and gas drilling boom in Ohio, titled "Drill Baby Drill - Oil & Gas." In the March, 2011 issue of Properties magazine, Kevin P. Murphy was recognized for his advocacy on behalf of the Northern Ohio Chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association. On February 10, 2011, Kevin joined three other members in a delegation which met with U.S. Representatives Marcia Fudge, Marci Kaptur, Dennis Kucinich, Steve LaTourette, James Renacci, Tim Ryan, Betty Sutton, and U.S. Senator Rob Portman for a discussion of several issues which, on a federal level, have an impact upon the commercial real estate industry. On November, 12, 2010, at the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association's 2010 Environmental Law Symposium, Kevin P. Murphy appeared with Kevin Nowak of Thompson Hine LLP as a co-presenter on the topic, "What Environmental Lawyers Should Know About Real Estate Law." October 29, 2010 - At the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association's annual Real Estate Law Institute, John W. Waldeck, Jr. was honored with the "Bob Rosewater Memorial Award," in recognition of his long-term service to the CMBA's Real Estate Law Section, his expertise in the practice of real estate law, and his commitment to community service in Greater Cleveland. In an article published in the May/June 2010 issue of Commercial Investment Real Estate, titled “Equity Injection: Tax credit programs boost funding for qualified properties,” John W. Waldeck, Jr. described how existing governmental tax programs can spur commercial real estate construction. On May 12, 2010, John W. Waldeck, Jr. gave a presentation at the Ohio State Bar Association's Commercial Leasing Seminar on the topic, "The Leasing Process: Work Letters, Tenant Reps, Letters of Intent." In the April 6-12, 2009 issue of Crain's Cleveland Business, John W. Waldeck, Jr. commented on the issue of "rent break bids" by local retailers in the article, "More Retailers Seek Rent Relief." .
