Learn about Lesya

Lesya Melnyk is a paralegal with over thirty years’ experience in the areas of complex litigation and real estate, general business, and commercial transactions. Her litigation experience includes all aspects of investigation and defense: client and witness interviews, fact finding, fact development, analysis and reporting, traditional and electronic discovery, and trial preparation.

She is accomplished in several practice areas, including:

  • White-collar criminal investigations and other actions by government agencies that target business entities and individuals for environmental violations, health care, mail and wire fraud, public corruption, and tax fraud.  Lesya responds to initial fact-finding efforts and works with our clients to respond to government requests, from the pre-indictment phase through trial preparation.
  • Complex civil and commercial litigation including aviation, contract disputes, product liability, real estate disputes, and attorney malpractice.  Lesya’s work includes an investigation that re-created twenty years of business transactions which resulted in a $20 million action for fraud and attorney malpractice.
  • Environmental actions brought by federal and state agencies against commercial operating concerns, treatment/storage/disposal facilities, and landfill operators.  Lesya acted on behalf of various potentially responsible party (“PRP”) groups to locate, retrieve, and analyze relevant information in the identification and prosecution of third-party PRPs for purposes of site remediation cost allocations.  She also created common document repositories available for use by national PRP groups.
  • Medical device and pharmaceutical product liability litigation.  Lesya has served on a national lead coordinating defense counsel team as well as on defense teams for regional and local representation.  She is well-versed in medical malpractice litigation.

Lesya is also highly skilled in the use of electronic information management and review platforms such as Summation, iPro Eclipse and other proprietary litigation document management software. She oversees and manages the firm’s ESI Support Group which provides electronic data support and document production in litigation and public records matters for the firm’s private and public-sector clients.
