Jamie is an attorney with Walter | Haverfield's Litigation group. Her practice concentrates on civil, commercial, and probate litigation. Jamie's experience includes defending lawyers against malpractice claims and in grievance proceedings, defending and counseling employers in discrimination and harassment matters, representing insureds in general liability cases, and handling appellate matters before various Ohio Appellate District Courts.

Jamie attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she earned her B.A. in Sociology with Honors in 2005. She then attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law, graduating in 2008. While at CWRU, Jamie was the Executive Notes Editor of the Health-Matrix Journal of Law-Medicine from 2007-2008, a member of the Ault Mock Trial Team, and a Regional Semifinalist in the 2008 American Association of Justice Mock Trial Competition. She was selected to join the Order of Barristers and was the recipient of the National Association of Women Lawyers' Outstanding Woman Law Graduate Award.

Jamie is a member of the American, Ohio, and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations and an Associate in the Judge John J. Manos American Inn of Court.


Commercial Litigation
  • Represented Ohio shareholders in a shareholder derivative suit and week-long trial involving breach of fiduciary duty, self-dealing, and corporate waste claims
  • Assisted in the representation of former owners of a company against breach of fiduciary duty claims in an adversary proceeding in bankruptcy court
  • Opposed and argued against a Trustee’s motion to strike defendants' affirmative defenses in bankruptcy court
  • Sat second chair in a multi-million dollar AAA arbitration involving the valuation and re-purchase of a minority shareholder’s interest in a closely-held company and employment-related counterclaims
  • Participates in pleading, motion practice, and discovery in breach of contract actions in Ohio state courts
Labor & Employment
  • Assists in the defense of employers in harassment and discrimination claims
  • Counsels employers and their management on federal and state laws regarding discrimination and harassment and strategies for preventing employment-related claims
  • Negotiated a severance package for an employee
Intellectual Property
  • Prepares and files trademark applications with the USPTO
  • Analyzes potential trademark and copyright infringement issues and prepares cease-and-desist letters
  • Sat first chair in a six-day legal malpractice jury trial involving claims that independent contractors from an attorney’s ancillary business provided negligent estate and Medicaid-planning advice to the client
  • Tried a two-day legal malpractice bench trial arising out of claims that an attorney was negligent in handling the client’s underlying divorce action
  • Argued, as second chair, two disciplinary trials before Panels of the Board of Commissioners of Grievances and Discipline
  • Argues appeals before several Ohio Appellate District Courts involving professional and general liability matters
  • Assists in the preparation of appellate briefs and jurisdictional briefs to the Ohio Supreme Court in legal malpractice matters, addressing issues involving the commencement of the statute of limitations period and the requirement of expert testimony to substantiate a malpractice claim
  • Obtained injunctive relief against a party who negotiated and refused to return over six-figures in pension overpayments to which the party was not entitled
  • Represents administrators of estates and trustees of trusts in connection with will contest and undue influence claims
  • Participates in pleadings, motion practice, and discovery in legal malpractice and general liability matters
  • Conducts depositions of experts and lay witnesses in legal malpractice and general liability matters
