Margaret is of counsel with Walter | Haverfield's Public Law group and focuses her practice on a variety of public sector matters including municipal, school and public/private sector partnerships. She is a member of the Northeast Ohio Law Directors Association and the Ohio Municipal Attorneys Association.

Currently, Margaret serves as law director for the village of Gates Mills and the village of Moreland Hills. She also served for more than 18 years as the law director for the city of Beachwood and for more than 20 years as the law director for the city of Shaker Heights.


Economic Development For Municipalities
  • Represented the city of Beachwood in the relocation of Eaton's world headquarters to Beachwood, including land acquisition and financing issues.
Land Use and Zoning
  • Represented the city of Shaker Heights in numerous negotiations with the city of Cleveland, including the negotiation of a new 99-year lease for the parklands known as the Shaker Lakes.
  • Represented the village of Moreland Hills regarding the acquisition of land from the Western Reserve Land Conservancy to become part of Forest Ridge Preserve.
