Patti is a partner with Walter | Haverfield LLP and a member of its Labor and Employment, Litigation, and Education practice groups. Her practice encompasses the entire employment relationship, from policy drafting and day-to-day consultations on employment-related issues to litigation. She is an experienced litigator and has successfully defended a wide range of employment and business-related cases, including discrimination and wrongful discharge cases, and breach of contract and shareholder disputes, on behalf of a broad cross-section of private and public clients. She defends as well as enforces non-competition and confidentiality agreements. Patti also has significant experience defending workers’ compensation claims, from initial filing through court appeals. Patti often assists her employer clients in the interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements. In addition, she conducts independent investigations into allegations of misconduct on the part of employees, students, and public officials.

Patti is proactive about informing her clients of changes in the law that will affect them. Her work regularly involves consultations on compliance with new, existing, and emerging employment laws. She is a regular contributor to Crain’s Legal Guest Blog and a frequent speaker on employment-related issues.

  • Advises and trained employers and employees on discipline and discharge concerns and existing and emerging laws regulating employment relationships

  • Drafts, enforces, and defends confidentiality, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements

  • Assists employer clients in interpretation, application, and administration of collective bargaining agreements
  • Obtained summary judgment in discrimination, wrongful discharge, and breach of contract cases
  • Defended class actions against employers involving discrimination and FLSA and state wage-hour claims
  • Obtained jury verdict in favor of employer in FMLA and ADA lawsuit
