Walter Haverfield Appoints Interim Managing Partner
Walter Haverfield today announced that Kevin Murphy informed the firm’s Executive Committee and partnership that, for personal and professional reasons, he has decided to step down as Managing Partner. Kevin will remain with the firm as an equity partner and return to focusing on growing his active practice of law.
The partnership has elected Josh Hurtuk as Interim Managing Partner for the balance of Kevin’s term. A formal election of the firm’s new Managing Partner will occur in 2026, as scheduled.
“Since 2022, we have been engaged in a comprehensive review of our firm and making strategic decisions for the future and growth of Walter Haverfield,” said Josh. “Much of this was led by Kevin and we are grateful for his acute focus on our firm and client-aligned growth. The entire partnership is committed to driving our new vision forward. I look forward to working side-by-side with him to ensure a smooth transition.”

Josh’s appointment as Interim Managing Partner follows his role as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Irene MacDougall has been appointed Administrative Partner.
