Kevin Soucek is an attorney with Walter Haverfield in the Tax and Wealth Management Group as well as the Intellectual Property Group. In the Tax and Wealth Management Group, Kevin focuses his practice primarily in the areas of federal, state and local tax planning and controversies, mergers and acquisitions, estate & tax planning, and probate and trust administration. In the Intellectual Property Group, Kevin concentrates his practice on trademark, copyright, privacy and transactional matters.
Kevin counsels business owners and individuals in a diverse range of tax, corporate, non-profit, and estate planning and probate matters to meet clients’ goals related to their tax and non-tax objectives. Kevin assists in matters involving strategic tax planning for closely held businesses, mergers and acquisitions, conversions of entities, and restructuring transactions. Kevin also handles a variety of state and local tax issues including tax audits and appeals.
Kevin is experienced in strategically handling various aspects of intellectual property law primarily with respect to both U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution as well as maintenance and enforcement in varied client industries. He frequently represents clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, as well as in many trademark settlements, among other intellectual property-specific litigation.
